Certified Organic, Lavender French (true) Oil 100%, 25ml
In our opinion this is the finest quality lavender oil that you can buy. You can literally smell the difference between this 100% certified organic oil and regular lavender essential oils.
Lavender oil has a fresh, floral aroma that works well in combination with other oils. It is useful for stress and tension, and it also soothes and restores the skin. It is very gentle and so can safely be used with infants.
Lavender is a lovely oil to burn in your child friendly electric oil burner for peace and tranquility in the home, for soothing and settling in the bedroom or nursery and for calming and relaxing effects in the bath. We also add it to our washing machine's rinse cycle for beautiful smelling bed linen.
Essential oils are highly concentrated and completely pure. They can be used for burners, baths or massages and are very pleasurable to use, but they should be treated with care. Essential oils should always be diluted in a base oil before applying to the skin, though there are some instances where lavender oil can be used undiluted on adult skin.
Infants are much more sensitive than adults to the properties of essential oils and so the quantities used should always be only a quarter of the amount used for adults. As a general rule for infants, Add one drop of essential oil to 10ml of base oil. Oils that are suggested for infants include Lavender, Roman Chamomile and Rose. You will find that many of the baby care products on ecobabe include these oils.
Herbalist regards Lavender as the most useful and versatile essential oil for therapeutic purposes. Lavender is the essential oil most commonly associated with burns and healing of the skin. It also has antiseptic and analgesic properties which will ease the pain of a burn and prevent infection. It also has cytophylactic properties that promote rapid healing and help reduce scarring. Lavender French is a popular choice amongst both aromatherapists and massage therapists for its combination of therapeutic quality and pleasant floral scent.
Essential Oils should not be applied directly to the skin, nor should they be used during pregnancy. |
